Medications
- NSAIDS – (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) Used to decrease pain and inflammation. (Ex. – Ibuprofen, Naproxen, DayPro)
- Anticonvulsants – Used to manage nerve pain. (Ex. Neurontin)
- Muscle relaxants – Relax tight or spastic muscles. (Ex. Soma, Flexeril)
- Antidepressants – Use to treat depression and chronic pain. May be used to lessen severe nerve pain. (Ex. Elavil, Prozac, Paxil)
- Narcotic Analgesics – Act in the central nervous system to relieve pain. Can be addictive. (Ex. Morphine, Demerol, Oxycontin)
