My TOS :
I have been a grocery cashier for almost 18 years. I started feeling pain in 2002, but thought that I had sore muscles. I finally went to my employer and started a case with workers comp, in july of 2004. I now have severe pain in the wing area (Scapula)of my right shouder, headaches, numbness down my right arm elbow area and tingling and numbness in my pinki and ring finger. the shoulder area has burning and stabbing pains. I have weakness when I reach over my head to get somthing out of the cupboard or things like that.It is hard to hold a pan for even a few minutes. I have had 2 MRI's (shoulder w/contrast slight inflamation, and on my neck, which shows a slight protruding buldge) the EMG came back normal. The dr. says It looks like Tos and he is sending me to UCLA to have an MRI on my brachial Plexus. I was out of work for 7 months and the company told me to come back to work doing modified duty. Well, modified duty hurts just as bad. I am the gopher. I talk to others about customer service, Photocopy, file, price changes, which entails using my arm over my head and carrying a 1 lb price gun. I hate it. My body is use to the pain in the checkstand, but just using my arm in any way is annoying burning pain. Even just sitting at the dinner table hurts. Sometimes I think I am crazy. I do not have a lawyer. I wonder if I should get one? I wonder if I should take vocational rehab? I don't know. My husband thinks I am a complainer and he doesn't realize that my whole right side hurts all the time. Cleaning hurts laundry hurts, sitting for a long period of time hurts, standing hurts. Everyhting hurts. I hate this feeling. I do not want the surgery even though it has not been offered. I just want to be normal again. Sorry for rambling. I was so excited to find out about TOS and this web site. Finally someone to talk to that understands that the pain is not in my head, it is REAL pain. Any advice about an attorney in the Santa Clarita Vally that has experience with TOS and workers comp would be helpful. Thank you. If you want to contact me, just to talk or exchange info, or whatever, my email is rd2freedom@sbcglobal.net. thanks for listening..... christine
