My TOS :
I was diagnosed with TOS at the age of 18, I am now 32! My mother told me after I was diagnosed that they knew at a very young age that I would end up having problems, my thoracic outlets are very small. I also have blockage caused by a cervical rib. I have dealt with my pain pretty much without the care of a doctor, for lack of insurance. I was taking muscle relaxers and Elavil for about a year at one point, but our insurance changed primary care physicians and I did not want to go through the hassle of explanations of what TOS is or any more tests by one more doctor! My pain is so severe now that I have no choice but to do something about it,most days I cannot move my neck, and my hands and forearms ache so bad that I think it would be better just to cut them off. I have talked to 4 doctors who say surgery is my only hope, but I fear that it won't work or it will cause more pain, and as you all know, we don't need any more pain! I am happy to have found this site, its comforting to know there are some people out there who understand, all too well, what I go through every day. I wish you all the best, and pray for relief.
