My TOS  :

Around the beginning of this year (2005), while lifting weights, my right arm began to turn red and become weakened. I don't have ANY pain at all and it only turns red and gets weak when I lift weights. I run and play ice hockey too, but there is no problem with my arm when I do these things. I can't imagine what most of you had to go through or are going through, with constant pain. I've read most of your stories and I feel like problems aren't so serious. I didn't see a doctor for it until the end of February where they took X-Rays and didn't see any problems there. Being away at school forced me to wait until April to go back for further testing. They performed a MRA on me and diagnosed with a compressed right subclavian vein. I've heard the doctor mention TOS, but I'm not sure if that is what I am officially diagnosed with. I had to have a venography to do further investigation on my problem. My first vascular surgeon recommended having my first rib on my right side removed, but he didn't feel comfortable doing the surgery, so he sent me to someone who was. I am scheduled to have surgery on July 19, 2005. I am told to be prepared for some a fair amount of pain after the surgery and lots of PT. Hopefully it turns out well and I am able to go back to the gym. If anyone has had a similar situation as mine feel free to e-mail me.
