My TOS  :

I was diagnosed in 2001 with TOS shortly after a motor vehicle accident. Because TOS can be caused by poor posture, the other driver's insurance company refused to pay for me to see a specialist. I had no health insurance at the time so I had no means to see a doctor once the case was settled. I got insurance in January of this year, but the insurance company refuses to allow me to see the only physician in Montana that specializes in TOS. So I opted to see a neurologist instead and what a joke that was! This doctor not only doesn't believe that TOS exists, but he claimed that my problems are related to Raynauds. He didn't even bother to look at any of the notes from this specialist or at the MRI. He wrote me a letter a week later and recommended that I see a physiatrist and do more walking, as if to say that I am out of shape. I have been in physical therapy now for a couple of months for a whole different problem. It was during one of these times that I almost fainted as my blood pressure bottomed out. This neurologist didn't even mention anything about the episode or address the problem. So I went to see the original neurologist that saw me after the accident. He confirmed again that I have TOS. He is ordering a couple of other tests to rule out anything else that might mimic TOS symptoms. I am angry as hell that I have been treated as if my symptoms are not real but a figment of my imagination! Has anyone else out there experienced anything like this?
