My TOS  :

I have had TOS (undiagnosed) for about 9 years, and 4 years (diagnosed). In january of 2002 i had an "extra" rib removed and after the surgury I experienced about 3 months of reduced pain (I personally think it was the pain meds). My pain started to return to pre-op levels pretty soon and my doctor suggested they go back in and remove a total of 3 ribs this time!! I have been very reluctant to do the surgury again, one for the pain and two, will it work?!! This year (2004) I have started to have other symptoms and I was wondering if other TOS'ers have had similar experiences...One night I found myself in emerg with what I thought was a heart attack! the pain was very intense and it centered around my jaw/neck area, the only way I could describe it to the doctor was that "it felt like I swallowed a tennis ball and it was loged in my throat area:, it was a very "heavy" pain, the doc said it may be angina pain so he did all the tests for heart problems but nothing showed up ** something else upset me on this occasion too, they gave me an anxiety pill almost immediatly, I am not a whiner or a hypocondriace (spelling?) I don't go to the doc for every little thing and I take my pain meds only when I can't stand it anymore. Maybe I did overreact at being given the pill but after being undiagnosed for so long and actually being told that "it's all in your head" it is a sore spot for me. Has anyone else experienced this type of symptom???
