My TOS :
I am a baker and about 8 months ago I started to have extreme pain in my right hand. I had no insurance at the time and my wife had become disabled so I figured that I would just have to live with it. As time went on it got worse, hands going to sleep, pain moving up my arm, and I would wake up in the middle of the night with terrible pain. I finally went the Workmans Comp route, because I thought it was Carpal Tunnel. Those test came up negative and the doctor wanted to do an MRI which WC denied and they said I had no claim! At this point I became eligble for Health Insurance at my second job as a house keeper at a local resort. Went to my GP and she sent me to another Orthopedic. He immediatly said I had TOS and has prescribed physical therapy. My problem at this point is that none of my doctors seem to believe that my pain is real. My Gp prescribed one round of Vicodin ES and I had to take twice the dose to be able to work even though I told her this she refuses to give me pain meds. The Orthopedic does not believe in Pain Meds and after one week with no medication he finally wrote me a prescription for regular Vicodin and told me I better not take more than prescribed or that would be it. Has anyone else had this kind of problem??? My wife has lived with chronic pain for years and is permantly disabled but at least her doctors are compassionate. I am at my wits end and would appreciate any suggestions that anyone here might have. I know that I will have to go the route of finding new doctors but it is very disheartening to be treated like a drug addict and to have your doctors tell you to get another job and loose your benefits. I hope all of you are having better luck than me. God Bless, Bill Humme.
Wish I could find one.
